Calls for cuts to 'hidden sugar'

Campaigners have called for cuts to so-called ‘hidden sugar' after new calculations by the Obesity Health Alliance concluded that children are eating up to 20 chocolate-chip biscuits a day.

The calculations were based on analysis of the most recent diet and nutrition survey undertaken by Public Health England and the Food Standards Agency.

Campaigners have warned that children are consuming excessive levels of sugar contained in everyday food and drink products.
