Keeping weight down can help prevent cancer
New research from the US National Cancer Institute in Bethesda has concluded that people who are overweight in their 20s and become obese in later life could be three times more likely to develop cancer of the oesophagus or uper stomach.
The findings, which are based on data from more than 400,000 people, have prompted health experts to urge young people to try and maintain a healthy weight. The new research has been published in the British Journal of Cancer.
